Functions

This office is under the administrative control of the Law and Judiciary Department, Mantralaya, Mumbai. For the administrative convenience this office is formed to look after the matters of various departments pertaining to legal opinion concerned with the High Court, Bombay Bench at Nagpur (which includes entire Vidharbha Region). The functioning of this office is looked upon by the officer of the rank of Joint Secretary.

The work of this office includes :-

To give the opinion on Criminal and Civil matters.
To file the cases of Criminal and Civil matters.
To file the Writ Petitions.
To defend the cases filed against the Government and to file the cases on behalf of the Government.
Work of any other nature pertaining to the Civil and Criminal cases.
